Killer Recipe No. II

Here is my mum's Spaghetti Bolognaise recipe. She has been cooking it forever! I have kept a copy inside a kitchen cupboard in every house I have lived in, now I thought I'd make it electronic. This is a very easy recipe!

500g mince steak
1 tabspn oil
1 med onion chopped
1 clove garlic crushed
2x 140g tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 tablespoon sugar
125g mushrooms
1 beef stock cube
1 cup water
1 cup red wine
grated carrot & chopped celery if you have any

Heat oil & fry onion, garlic & mince.
Add tomato paste & remaining ingredients.
Cover & simmer 30mins. (Or longer if you have the time.)

This company does customised American Apparel underwear... they'll write whatever you like on the undies in rhinestones, a favourite gift for the bride-to-be!

They are about A$27 delivered to Australia... I'll see if I can get my mate Amanda to model hers so I can get a photo.

Navy Open Day

Some of you know that I live right near Garden Island, Sydney's inner-city Naval Base. Well, next week they are having an open day. I think that's pretty exciting because it's usually a big NO to visitors for security and terror reasons. Anyways, they are opening the gates on Saturday 6th October, 2007. I'm gonna see me some big ships!

October is good food month in Sydney! A wonderful excuse to head into the city after work for something at the night noodle markets... or maybe a cocktail and canape special at an array of lovely bars.

Mandala

Today I have been making Mandalas with my year 4 students. Here is a great video of Monks making a Mandala, and some interesting information as well. I hope some Mandala-making happens in Sydney soon.
