It had to happen!

Today I had a rather awful day at work (these are rare for me so it was a bit of a shock!) This little artwork sums it up beautifully...

It's almost Winter!

Hola!
I thought I'd give a blog a try for my drop-ins... I have been sending them for around three or four years and most o
f them have disappeared off into the interweb, never to be seen (or read) again!

So here I am on the verge of Winter and to celebrate, Mark and I visited Melbourne on t
he weekend. Worth it! We walked around, shopped, visited the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (read: Film), the controversial Federation Square (I don't care if it's good or bad, just wish Sydney had the balls to try something similar), visited the highly recommended Double Happiness bar and frequented many bookstores.
We stayed at The Westin (wow) and ate as much as we could. Bought some gloves with x-ray skeleton fingers on them and some electric blue tights, I won't be lost in a crowd this winter!

We also met this cool chick in a shop who told us about a website her friend made. It tells everyone about all the cool going-ons in Melbourne. It's like a monthly drop-in, but weekly, and makes me feel old and outta touch... oooh, wanting art school days back badly. Anyway, help her out by clicking through: http://www.threethousand.com.au/
There is one for Sydney there too, so take a look.

Other than that I'm enjoying the new addition to my family, Lily Georgia, and am spending more and more time over at Potts Point, enjoying the cosmopolitan hospitality of the Inner East - it's surprisingly more palatable than I ever imagined. Mark's place is actually quieter than mine at Newtown - I even hear native birds in the morning (and they're not the local prostitutes!)

Work is keeping me on my toes, I'm painting 6 outdoor murals with the kids this term and I have just had the pleasure of learning that 9 of my students have won prizes in a Sydney wide competition for Reconciliation Week - a welcome nod that my teaching is heading in the right direction.

Finally...
I HEART: New Blonde Redhead album - 23, Autumn leaves, new mauve hoodie with thunder clouds on front, baby anything, croissant d'or bakery - Potts Point, those 'raindrop' shower heads, giving up TV, giving up smoking, giving up majority of alcohol, Sopranos article in this month's Vanity Fair, free Herzog film nights at AGNSW
I DON'T HEART: Giving up TV, giving up smoking, giving up majority of alcohol, IT Bags (ladies, there are so many fakes we don't even know if they are real), parking tickets, being asked to not take photos, trying to stop biting nails, the 'corporate feel' of airports

Anyways - here are some photos of our trip, and would love to hear from you soon! Love love love... xx
